I always try to get them all but more often than not I don't. I enjoy picking a game back up I started a year or two ago and polishing it off but I usually only have time for that during the slow summer months.
I try to max them out. The only games I can think of that I don't even bother with are the Gears of War games. Those 'Seriously' achievements take up far too much time, and when it's a game I really don't enjoy to begin with, it ain't worth it.
I just play the game dont worry about achievement completion. Its only a number in the end
This is my new philosophy on achievements. I used to be all about achievements but in many cases going after them is no fun whatsoever.
A great example is one of my recent achievements in Fallout New Vegas. The Courier that Broke the Bank is awarded for getting kicked out of three casinos on The Strip and to do that you have to earn quite a sum of chips in each casino. It basically
amounted to me playing what seemed like endless hands of Blackjack.....zero fun
For the games that I'm really into, I'll get all the achieves no matter how hard it is. But for just random games I pop in, no I dont go for all the points, mainly because those games are
just to pass time. Like right now I've been playing so many different game until Mass Effect 3, I havent really focused on the achievements.
You did that achievement wrong. Max out your luck and you never lose a hand. I thought it was fun walking into casinos and wrecking shop.
Actually, I did it right. I had 10 Luck and it still took about 30 minutes at each casino. And even then, the dealer would sometimes win or match my hand. It was especially bad at the Ultra Luxe. Towards the end the dealer matched nearly every other
hand of Blackjack.
To me it was similar to a time consuming "gathering" achievement. I had no desire to gamble at the casinos naturally because my guy was already wealthy from selling excess weapons and armor.
