I usually do it because everything's too dark for my liking. Looks good in the dark too though. Either way, the game looks better than I thought it would so I'm a happy man.

the best looking game

turning it up too high will wash out the colours and ruin the textures , and dark areas and night scenes will be ruined

I wouldn't go that far personally.

My TV displays tru black cus of the LED tech, i dont want to ruin it, black needs to be black.

If i want lighter, i equip the flashlight. or infra red scope.

I messed with my 58" plasma yesterday and holy s*** my tv is so sexy now.  Hahaha Batman and Rage looked amazing and i wasnt disappointed when I put in BF3

i used the tv calibration game in the indie games to help calibrate my tv settings, everything looks much better since

i also remember a calibration option in the Battlefield Beta menu's.. BTW

[/quote]that will only properly calibrate the tv for that game, the one in the indie games works like the calibration dvds you can get, then you can just tweak individual game brightness/contrast settings in the games own settings.

does the full game have a pic to calibrate with? I remember the beta brightness settings saying "adjust the brightness tii you can barely see the image" but there was NO image?!. The calibration screen for BC2 with the whites and blacks and having brightness and contrast settings was fantastic! Does BF3 have a contrast setting?
