Problems playing a game please HELP...

I just got Assassins Creed 2 and I started the game up for the first time today. It asks me for an update and I agree. But when I select my hard drive to save my stuff to I get a message that says Save options failed. The storage device containing the gamer profile in use has been removed. What do I do to resolve this issue. Since this any new game I try I get a message stating the same. Please help...

While your console is off, unplug your hard drive and plug it back in again then try AC2 again.
