Playing music from browser

I have an xbox music pass subscription. I log into xbox and confirm that my subscription is active.

I would like to just browse the music library in the browser (ie9) and play.  But when I click on "Music" when on the xbox site (logged in) I just get a sales page for signing up for xbox music pass.  I already have a pass and would like to play the music.  So how do I go about doing that?

Hello Norm Sash,

To play music with Xbox Music on your PC, you'll need a Windows 8 PC with the Xbox Music app. Music would need to be played using the app and not streamed through the browser.

You can also use the Xbox Music app on an Xbox 360 console or on a mobile device that also supports the app. Let us know if you're able to try one of those alternatives.

I have multiple devices.  I get it now that with Win8 I have to use the xbox music app to listen to music.

(sidenote: I find the xbox site "music" menu item really confusing.  I already have a music pass, and when I click on the Music > Xbox Music Pass menu it takes me to a sales page wanting me to buy another music pass.  It's as if it doesn't recognize that I already have a music pass.  What's the point of logging in if the site doesn't recognize my subscription?)

Anyway, back on track... I can use Zune on my Win 7 PC and my Win7.8 phone, but I can't figure out anyway to get Zune to recognize my Music Pass.  How do I do that with all my Win 7 devices and Zune?

Hi Norm Sash,

In order to add different devices to your Xbox Music pass, be sure your device list over here is all up to date. Let us know if that was the missing piece here. Thanks!

You can listen to music via a web browser - music.xbox.com -- works fine.

Hey Carolina, while it's great you want to provide an updated answer, please do not revive old threads. This pushes other threads that may have an active issue further down the list.
