PC didn't work with Xbox One HDMI Pass-Through

After experimenting with my Xbox One, I found that my PC doesn't work with the HDMI pass-through. All I get is the background screen. No desktop icons, no windows button, no windows open even if opened prior to plugging in. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone had their PC work with the Xbox One HDMI pass-through? Any suggestions on what to do to make it work? I'm open to anything. It is my hope that I can have my Steam library on my Xbox One.

I should mention, my Xbox 360 worked with the HDMI pass-through. Quite well actually, if you ignore the significant input lag.

Thank you.
