OneGuide doesn't work with DirecTV HD box.

I'm having trouble finishing the setup for my OneGuide.  When I get to the point where it asks me to send the "Channel Up" command it doesn't work and setup fails.  I have a DirecTV HD box.  Watching TV works very well and it switches between dashboard and live TV.

When I say "Xbox Channel up" it thinks I'm telling it to turn off and when I click on "Send Command" it asks if it worked, which it doesn't.

Help would be greatly appreciated as this is becoming VERY frustrating.

Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,

If channel change isn't working, then you likely have 1 of 2 issues with your DirecTV box:

1) It's set to use RF not IR. Check in your settings.

2) The Kinect's IR blaster doesn't have line of sight to your STB. It bounces IR light off of you and your furniture, then back to your devices. Try holding the Kinect about 4-5 feet away from your STB and see if channel change works then.

I have my HR21/100 in a cabinet below my Xbox One and I use RF to control it because I don't have line of sight.  Why did I think that the Xbox was using the HDMI cable to send the signal?  If it is using IR, then I'm never going to be able to use it.  Can someone confirm?

Hey Tomster, it is definitely using IR to send the signal.

You can use an IR extension cable to send the signal to your DirecTV box if it's behind a cabinet door.
