Old Xbox, New Games Trouble?

I have an old xbox arcade (yes its still alive!!!) but I have recently had issues when trying to play gow 3, forza 4, and now mw3 with the discs being unreadable. Sometimes the game wont even load from the dashboard (says there is now disc). And sometimes mid game it will come up with the error message that the disc in unreadable. Could it be my old console is not able to keep up with the new games???

Is this only your recently purchased games, or all games. If you have a hard drive(I know you mentioned Arcade but you might have bought a hard drive), install the games to it. I have had games that were scratched and only played cause I installed them previously.

Sorry, also try cleaning the lens. You can buy discs in store that have a thin duster attached to them. I would try that as well. I hope that helps. I hate missing game time as much as anyone else.

Sorry, guess it would have helped to mention that yes, it is only happening with new games. I have no issues playing older games, just ones that have been recently released.

Hey Rager, can you please tell me the following:

What games do NOT play on your console.
What games DO play on your console.
If you're connected to LIVE.
If you've tried installing the games to the HDD.
If you've tried replacing the game disc for games that will not play.

Thanks for the info!
