Not able to play rented movie on my XBOX360

Dear,

On December 18th, I rented the movie 'Elysium' via the XBOX Video app on my Surface 2, in SD and via streaming.

On December 19th, I tried to play this movie on my XBOX 360 but it comes up with an error 'Media Usage Rights Playback Error' and statuscode '803c0009'. On my Surface 2 on the other hand, it clearly says that it is still available for more than a day and it streams fine. Disappointing. What is going wrong here?

Regards,

Chris

As mentioned in your other thread, you can only play rentals on the device where you rented it.

Thanks for the reply. So this is by design? I would never have expected this limitation to apply...when I e.g. rent a DVD, I can play it on multiple devices as well. More descriptive error messages would also have helped.

With these kind of limitations, Microsoft is completely ruining the user-experience of an other wise great service. Too bad...I probably won't many more movies in the future...
