I have contacted EA support and have tried numerous suggestions by them. Most of them seem to revolve around the clock settings. Here is the rundown:
I have an older Xbox that worked great up until just before Xmas and then the HDMI stopped working. The component still worked but it was Xmas and I figured it was a good time to move to a slim model.
I got my new Xbox 360 S model at christmas and transferred my content via USB key and then transferred my licenses. I have played many hours of COD: Black Ops II, some Skyrim and a fair amount of Fallout: New Vegas and never ran into an issue. Then a group of friends and I were going to play NHL 13. We tried playing a bunch of games but each time the game would start to loop (where it would revert back to a previous faceoff) until eventually the game would lose sync and would error out. We then all joined separate online games and everyone else was able to play through a full game without issue while my game looped until it lost sync and errored out. Since then I have tried numerous things such as hooking my Xbox directly to my modem, putting it in the DMZ, etc. Eventually I hooked up my old Xbox and it works perfectly which means its not a connection issue. My old Xbox works flawlessly and never experiences a single loop/sync.
I suspect the internal clock on my new Xbox is not running at the correct speed or there is something wrong with it causing me to not be able to play any game in the NHL series online (tried NHL 12 as well and the same issue persists with the new console but works fine on the old console).
As mentioned I have been through EA support and followed their numerous suggestions (most of which were moot as they were suggestions on opening ports and checking my firewall, etc. but if that was the problem neither Xbox would work). At this point I know that both sides will blame each other and I will be the one stuck with a console that cant play an entire series of games.
I dont know if any actual MS/Xbox people actually check this forum but at this point I'm just shooting in the dark trying to get this fixed
