NHL 14 Demo troubles...

Well, I go to download the demo, sit there excited, it finished, I go to play it and something pops up saying it couldn't start try re-downloading...I've had issues with demos lately, but before it would give me a disc unreadable error, at this point I'm thinking I'm having a hard drive issue, my question is, would formatting the drive perhaps solve any problems going on there? Or would I just be wasting my time doing that? Help, I wanna play this frickin' demo!

It's still saying "The game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again." Which I have done a couple times now, I'm lost...but to go back to my first post, would formatting my hard drive help at all?

Hey there Swanerr,

That certainly is odd.

If it is an issue with your hard drive, I don't think that formatting it would help resolve things.

You said that you've had issue with demos before but do you have any issues playing other things you download from the marketplace like trailers or arcade games?

Something that would help to determine if it is that hard drive would be to download the Demo onto a USB drive and try launching it from there.

  • You may also want to try playing the demo on a different profile on your console.

Please let us know the answer to that question and how the USB works for you and we'll go from there.
