I was a modern warfare guy. Like many others, modern warfare was truly the pinnacle of the CoD franchise and it is what really got me into it.
As always the hype train took over last year and I went on a wild goose chase to find MW3 Hardened so I could get the Elite. I played it for about two weeks, and then quit.
COD had become stale to me. It was sitting in its own ***, and it did not mind enough to move.
With Black Ops II, I would have to say that this has completely changed that.
One of my gripes of Black Ops 1 was that the multiplayer felt sluggish. It felt slowed down and like the game was just not running correctly. The game modes like one in the chamber and other wager matches were what drew me in ...... and now we come to this.
I have to say, Treyarch did an incredible job of not only making this game feel faster, but doing it in a way that is not over the top ridiculous. While this game does harken back to days of Modern Warfare, there is still an intangible difference to it that sets it apart. When I first played I felt like the game played and looked exactly like Modern Warfare 3 and I was worried. But something has taken over that has veered me from that thinking.
The multiplayer has absolutely grown on me, and I feel like like this game has a perfect mix of modern warfare type gameplay, but with Black ops balance and game modes. it is really something.
I also played the first campaign mission last night and I have to say that it only made my hype erection grow longer, as the intensity and enjoyment was rampant from the very beginning.
I dont want to go on with a long @@@ review because quite frankly I am not a professional writer but I will say this: I was never planning on buying Black Ops 2 this year. Once again, however, the hype train hit me in the face and took me along for the ride. So far, the ride has been amazingly fun, and I hope that the feelings continue and I do not get off at a stop two weeks from now.
