My account's currency won't update.

I have an American account, and I have been traveling a lot, so I got a Money Card in Hong Kong. I redeemed the card, on the website, but now it won't register that it's on my account, probably because my account is still set on American currency. Is there any way I can change this?

It may be that the cards are region locked.  However, to find out if anything can be done your best bet is to contact phone support.

I tried buying something in Honk Kong, but it didn't register I have the money on my account. It says I have $0.36, the amount I had before I redeemed the code.

Go look at your account on https://commerce.microsoft.com

Check the details and so on

Look in the upper right where it should have a two-letter country code (eg, "US") followed by 'personal account'. Is there a drop-down you can look at? Does it also have a second account listed? Is there any money in that one?

It says HK-Personal Account. There is a drop-down to US-Personal Account. Without doing anything, it shows my redeemed code in my Recent Transactions.

Yeah, by redeeming a code from a different region you've managed to 'split' your billing account into two currencies.

This can cause some problems as when you go to purchase things it will only look at your actual region and the money in that account and will not see the other 'half' if you like where you seem to have managed to partition off some money.

It's a weird one, but it's because you used a code from a different region.

You should get in touch with Phone Support (support.xbox.com/contact-us) and see if they can consolidate them again for you.
