MW3 - Studios Analysis

1. Infinity Ward - (Half of people still present).  We do not know what talent is left.  We hope for them to not mess up.

2. SledgeHammer Games - I looked at their page and they have some pretty good talent I guess.  People there worked on Dead Space and a lot of James Bond titles (never played any of them so I do not know how good they were.  Single Player/ Multiplayer)

3. Raven Software - old school studio.  Founded in 1990.  Here is a list of games

I mostly play multiplayer and I am concerned that they might put in some ideas that people didn't like in previous games.  I think my brother bought Wolfenstein , played multiplayer for about 2 hrs and returned the game.  He said it was pretty bad.  This does not say much as this is just opinion of one person.

What do you guys think?

Will they follow of what worked and put few tweaks and extras to make it worth getting, or each studio will try to slap as much of their own ideas that it will bloat and break the game.

Any thoughts?

They will follow what has worked before. Unfortunately, their mindset is probably "Don't fix what isn't broken".

The talent is there, just have to see how well its implemented. Kinda not the best indicator in this game as we know they have to put out a COD game and wont stray too far from the MW formula. Id say we would have to wait until they do an original IP together to see how well they really do. I will point out the good and bad...sledgehammer made the more recent Bond games I believe, none of which were attention grabbing. Flipside is Raven software made my favorite xbox game ever. Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Academy..which is where I got my GT.

Raven is not working on MW3.

Anyway @OP. I don't think Activision would give Raven that much freedom to do what THEY want in multiplayer.

I definitely remember Robert Bowling saying that it was only IW and Sledgehammer. Soooooooo...

Well we wont really know until the game comes out and actually play it

this is exactly why I am waiting a couple weeks to make a decision.  No matter what happens, the facts are that the original studio is a shell of its former self and Activision scrambled to reassemble things to its former "glory".  There are guaranteed to be hiccups during any drastic change, and I will not pay my money for them to work these hiccups out.

I'm sure they aren't allowed to stray too far from the formula, but whatever ideas they do have will be reviewed by Activision anyway... so it's safe to say that MW3 will probably be about the same.

Who knows though, they just may surprise us lol

@ WH1T3, That article is kind of old, don't you think.

I believe I saw that somewheres too. Not sure which company, but ones handling MP and ones handling the campaign, or something like that, but I believe Raven wasnt involved.
