MP feels like a COD clone

Part of me is wondering if maybe I got the wrong game by mistake.  Or maybe I just have had enough of the COD franchise.  I usually prefer Treyarch COD titles to Infinity Ward, but I still enjoy playing them.

This game feels like a shell of former titles.  Removal of Ground War along with the addition of nothing but large maps, I now find myself spending a good portion of the match trying to find something to shoot.

Not to mention the usual slew of poor spawn issues, in game exploits, rampant hacking, etc.

Got COD4 and liked it but quickly stopped, every game was flodded with spam messages.

I'm going to keep playing, maybe it will grow on me.  Some of the issues can obviously be fixed via a patch.  I played the hell out of BO2, now I just need to adjust my play style and get used to the new mechanics.

Digging the knee slide, btw.  Not good with it, but I love doing it.

I love Ghosts so far,But the spawns are terrible.

So what's your reasoning for treyarch outclassing iw?

I've always favored treyarch myself, up until bo2 that is. But imo they have both been catering to pure mindless fun. No complaints about mindless fun .... except that I dont want it constantly.

I'd say this is more like a combimnation of mw2 and bo, and closer to WaW and bo than bo2 was. I'd even say that mw3 was closer to the style of Waw and bo than bo2 was.If you're a fan of one particular developer, I think you need to dig down and look at the game instead of who made it. I dont think even that the devs are in control of what they do.

Treyarch was good for thinking games with clean fights. IW was good for dirty fights. I've always said that treyarch makes boxing matches while IW makes barroom brawls. Both can be fun, but too much of either gets old. I dont know what I'd compare bo2 to .... maybe a room full of preschoollers od-ing on red candy..... i dont know. all I do know is I see potential in this game to satisfy everyone's taste if they just quit wanting to hate it so bad.

yup, pretty liking the slide and glide :P

I agree Hyper, the only IW COD I have really liked is COD4 (which is the best out of all of the CODs IMO). Otherwise, Treyarch has just been outclassing IW.

I think it plays more like cod did before they started listening to the players. ..... and I'm meaning that in a good way.

.  I've always enjoyed the IW series over treyarch.  I like treyarch and think it's a good thing having them, but their games do not play as smooth.  COD 4 > waw, MW2 > Blops, Mw3 > blops 2.  Innovation may go towards treyarchs team, but IW knows how to make the better game.

I could not possibly disagree any harder.  The ONLY good IW CoD was 4.  Everything else they have touched has been abject garbage.
I meant it plays like an arcade title trying to capture that COD feel, while at the same time not actually BEING COD
I know that feel, I guess.

Agreed.  The larger maps allow for more styles of play.  I feel like they simplified point streaks to promote more gun on gun.  In the past few cods it was easy to get game changing killstreak rewards.  There really aren't a lot of game changers in this game....so while blops 2 was all about "gun on gun", most of my matches ended with me and my buddy calling in stealth choppers, escort drones, warthogs, lodestars, swarm and dogs.  MW3 the sky would be full of reapers, pavelows, ac130s and osprey gunners.
