Mistake / Grace Period

Why isn't  their any recourse or grace time when you purchase a game on line if done by mistake ? My son purchased a game by mistake that he already has on disc and they won't or can't refund my cc . The funny thing is that the game wasn't able to download (pending) to the hard drive because his hard drive is full . I have been an xbox live customer for 10 years now and have been pretty satisfied but this episode is leaving me pretty unhappy. Has anybody else has an issue like this and how was it resolved. this is why you make space this is upto you to make sure you have space (you can always put it on usb drive)

 

you can always passcode protect your profile and only allow your child on a guest profile

 

otherwise there is no refunds

it takes more then 1 click and also you cannot just press a

 

it takes some movement to select the purchase now

 also support cannot confirm if you completely deleted the dlc or just downloaded it and said it couldn't download you would be getting the game for free

this is the same policy on every console

That is complete bull. I was on my xbox last night looking up Full FREE arcade games by Doritos. I ended up downloading one game for free. Then while i was continuing browsing i ended up on PAC-man championship. Before i knew it i had dropped my controller on my desk and picked it up while pressing a button to confirm my download purchase with 800 Microsoft points. I have had over 900 xbox points on my account for a number of days and i have no use for them unless purchasing map packs for call of duty. I sent a xbox support ticket to ask for my 800 Microsoft points back since i did not want 2 download a game that got accidentally purchased. I'm a Grown man and have no reason to lie over a measly ten or twenty dollars in MS points. However if they don't refund my points this will continue to be a serious flaw in purchasing online xbox content. They should make us fill out a captcha for confirming each download instead of it being 2 clicks away. if this is a lose id even prefer to give the non downloaded content 2 someone who will enjoy it.

all digital downloads no matter what console or pc are final as there is no way to confirm that you deleted the file

MS does not deal with billing issues over an email as you are required to verify who you are

 

you have to call billing

Thanks 4 the response. I just called xbox live support with information about my support ticket number. I talked to a knowledgeable representative and he solved my case. I was informed that the purchase of content from xbox live is not for the product itself, its actually the license to the product.

This license allows you unlimited download access to the product you purchase, whether it be bought with MS points or Credit Card. I was able to receive not only half of my  MS Points back due to my error, i was also told that the license that i accidentally purchased cannot be reversed. So this means not only did they help me get some of my points back, also i need to go ahead an make room for a download that i never really wanted since i now own the license to it. All in all i am satisfied with the results because at least i received something and that's better  than nothing.

You got really lucky! I have never had any luck getting any refunds for any of the content I purphased by accident. I doubt you will be able to do that again in the future. Maybe one day they might be able to pull the license from the content so refunds might be easier but I wouldn't bet on it any time soon. : (.  I understand why they don't give refunds it's because the license gets tied to the gamertag .. I know ... I know
