Minecraft Download for FREE

The best course of action would be to contact the Minecraft Support forums since they are the ones in charge of promotions in game. Bring this issue to their attention and see what they can do to alleviate this issue! 

Well i contact them.

Mojang Support team told me to contact Microsoft support team as they are not in power to do any promotions on xBox???

Answer was:

"The editions of Minecraft available on Xbox are supported by Xbox Support. They can help with things such as game installation, adding downloaded content, billing, network issues, and console troubleshooting. You can view country-specific ways to contact Xbox by visiting support.xbox.com/contact-us."

So who is in power to dealing with this as Microsoft team sweep responsibility to Mojang team and vice versa??

Also they told:

"If you have purchased the disc version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, provided you have fulfilled the necessary criteria then you can still claim a free copy of Minecraft for Xbox".

Is there is any glitch that I can not download it??

There are currently two versions of Minecraft on the Xbox One; the Xbox One Edition (which is no longer supported but remains playable if you own it) and the "Better Together" which is the version that has the cross platform feature. Late last year we had a promotion in which if certain criteria was met, owners of the Xbox One Edition would receive a digital copy of the Better Together Minecraft. This is no longer valid, but we still have an article with the details of the offer at Minecraft “Better Together” Update.

Thanks for respond. I understand this situation. But I have this issue for while. Back in 2017 I meet this criteria and still didn't get offer. So it is clearly it was not my fault. Also I have notice that more people have this issue.

I have xbox one edition and its not supported any more. But I have option on game download for free for it should be for free.

There were other requirements when this new version was made available for free.

Here at the Minecraft Better Together FAQ it is stated as follows:

Q: How long will the Better Together Update be available as a free download to players who own the console version of the game?

A: Owners of the disc version of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will have until January 30th 2018 to have played Minecraft for five or more hours in the past 12 months OR purchased a DLC Pack. There is no cutoff for digital Minecraft: Xbox One Edition owners.

I know all of this. 

Back in 2017 me and my son have played for more than 5 hours but yet we still couldn't download for Free. I read some forums and people reported that Microsoft have some issues About this download.  If I still receive advertisement about Free download so I still should upgrade my copy to new version. If its possible you can check how long I play. Even Mojang confirm that i should get free copy.

I'm owner of DVD version Xbox One edition Minecraft. For one year it say that I can update/download this game for free but when I try it ask me to pay £17.

When I launch game on main menu it say:

"Download the latest version of minecraft for FREE."

Can someone sort it out for me please?
