Media Center plays one movie then won't play another...

Ok,  I have two Xbox360's accessing my movies on my Home server via a stand-alone media computer dedicated to streaming movies and music.  The issue I am having is I can stream a movie to one or both xbox's, however, if I stop the movie and choose a different movie, then the xbox MC stops responding.  Anyone know of the issue or a solution?

Hi Qburt,

That's an odd issue, certainly.

Out of curiosity, when the issue occurs, does rebooting your console seem to solve the issue?

Also, does this occur only with a specific title, or a couple of titles? Or does it happen every single time no matter which movie you're watching?

Let us know more when you are able!

Sorry this didn't help.

Rebooting the console does not seem to help.  If I reboot the media PC then I can play a new title, but then if i were to stop that title, I am unable to start a new one.

Typically the XB will start to buffer and then hang when the second movie is played.  If it does not do that, then it will darken the screen as if to start and hang there.  Rarely, it will actually play the second movie.

The typical media video format I use is MPG.  I'm in the process of re-ripping my movies to a WMV (VC-1).

I have reinstalled the extender to WMC, reinstalled WMC and also reinstalled my CODECS (Shark007).

It's very annoying.

Hey Qburt,

Sounds like a frustrating experience!

You mentioned you're converting some of the video file formats. After doing that, can you test this issue out again and let us know if it still occurs when playing different file formats?
