Marketplace status code 8C010003

Ever since the newest update went live, I have been unable to change payment options on the marketplace, evey time I try to I get "Theres a problem with Xbox LIVE Marketplace.  Please try again later.

Status code: 8C010003"

having this problem now, deleted expired credit cards and cleared system cache and still having the same problem

I had thecsame problem à few days ago, but then i tried bying the game from another map in market place and it spridd just fine try it out

Give Amazon a shot, I think it'll work for you. If not, you'll just have to sit on it for a while. Make sure to choose the digital option so you get your redemption code instantly.

well now I have a new error.  Marketplace cannot authorize your payment.  No work around...cant buy points cant buy with cash.  My only option is points cards at the moment and apparently they are starting to fail on people as well.

I jumped through all the same hoops. Likely they have fixed it quietly behind the scenes and perhaps it would work for me now too. Or perhaps it depends on your location and the servers you're running through, internet quality, updates to your system, version of Xbox you have, if you've at any point added PayPal as a payment option etc.

 

If you're experiencing issues with the Xbox Marketplace the ONLY surefire way to get your purchase and download going is to purchase MS Points from Amazon, receive the digital redemption code and redeem it on your Xbox Live account:

I just did it the simple way, I paid for resi 4 on here using my laptop, and it automaticly gets downloaded to your 360 when your next online.

delete all your credit cards/payal accounts on your xbox then redo what ever one your gonna use and it should work atleast worked for me.

Okay, so I called support and spent time with the lady going over every possible solution to no avail to finally prove my point that this is not an end-user issue AND THERE REALLY IS AN ISSUE WITH THE SYSTEM!!!

 

Funny enough I got another really annoying email during our phone call with a big list of "it's you, not us" reasons why it was failing.

 

The lady on the phone was being really candid with me because she could tell that I'm not an idiot and am a tech savvy person. She had her supervisor come over and reveal that they haven't even been aware of or looking into this. So I had her take a look at this forum thread and share with her supervisor.

 

But, (and I hope this is true) they said they're really making note of the issue and are actually going to investigate it. I even managed to get them to agree to take my email down to hopefully update me on the issue.

 

One small leap for consumers, one giant leap for nerds!

 

So, the only surefire workaround right now (for everyone, some might be successful with the payment option shuffle) is Amazon:

That's not really a fix, more like a workaround. But, considering Microsoft clearly doesn't care about actually fixing this issue I'll give tricking the system into working for me a shot.
