Looking for an online download

I don't have live on my 360 (a lack of wifi), and I need the download for rever compatibility to enable the play of original xbox games.  I emailed suppport and got:

"All you have to do is to update your console. Here is the link on
how to do it:
http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/how-to/update-xbox-360/syst
em-updates.aspx."

the link gives me the option to burn to a cd/dvd---when i drop down the how to, it says

  1. On your computer, download the update file. but that isn't the CORRECT download, and I can't find the download I need...can someone direct me to the download?

if you are sure the xbox game is on the compatibility list

xbox.about.com/.../360bclist.htm

you can however call support and ask for a compatibility disk if they still distibute it (i doubt it ) because they stoped supporting it awhile ago

is it the xbox 4gig or the arcade unit or are you using a usb drive

none of those will work

also you'll have to call support to see if you can order the bc disk

(i doubt they are still shiping them)

also the system update is not the BC update you need to update that using the xbox or ordering the disk

support.microsoft.com/.../911314 - It seems as though that is the correct file to download.

I tried doing a search for it, but if I remember correctly, the last backwards compatibility update became available in 2009 as a system update, so as long as your console is up to date, you have the latest update.
