Isn't money in my Microsoft Account shared between the Xbox Store and Windows Store?

I have money on my Microsoft account in which I want to purchase Halo: Spartan ****, on the Windows 8 Store. On the http://billing.microsoft.com as well as Xbox.ca, it says I have around $22, but when prompted to choose a payment method in the store, it shows these options:

"( )Credit Card"

"( )PayPal"

"Microsoft Account:
( ) You have $0"

Shouldn't the money be visible in the Windows Store?

Are you buying it from the site if so it is not set up for the converted currency.  Until it is you have to have a payment method on file or buy it via your 360 console.

Unfortunately at the moment they are separate accounts so any currency in one account cannot be shared with the other. In time there could be a possibility that Microsoft will link the accounts so you will only need the one.

Hey there Soldier,

As has been said, you are not currently able to make purchases in the Windows 8 Game app using your account currency.

From our Transition to Local Currency FAQ:

The currency in your Microsoft account can be used to buy a variety of Xbox content from your Xbox 360, as well as apps from the Windows Phone Store for users with a Windows Phone 8.
