Is the xbox app supposed to record games that aren't from the windows store nor are xbox games on windows 10? Because it does.

I opened up a game on my computer and it recognized it and windows 10's xbox app popped up and asked if I wanted to record the gameplay. So I took a few clips with the game bar (windows key + g) and to my amazement, it recorded clips on my computer - in a game that has no connection to windows apps/games or xbox games. It then asked me if I wanted to share it. I deleted both clips but I think that this is a huge issue.

The xbox app is open and its connected to my xbox but I wasn't streaming while this happened.

I don't want to release the game's name due to privacy reasons.

Howdy!

No worries, this is normal and is a new feature. The Xbox App is supposed to work with all your games and more compatibility with more games over time. Works really good with stream games :)

You can share the game clips like you would normally. If you have any Beta games, please check to see if their is any NDA. Otherwise, feel free to share :-)
