IP Flooding and Denial of Service Attacks

There is a serious issue with the Xbox Live experience. There are players online who follow other players and use software through their PC to kick other players out of games, or go as far as causing Denial of Service Attacks, which totally disables the other players internet. Not just from the Xbox, but from their PC as well. Reporting these players via the console has done nothing, using the options to Avoid these players does nothing. Posting on the forums was the only answer Xbox Live Customer Support could provide for me. Let's see if it helps.

Phone support is incorrect in this matter.  Reporting people on the forums does nothing.  Using the dashboard reporting tools, however, does do something.  It sends a report to the PET for them to investigate and take the necessary action on.  Go to the players bio and select File Complaint then follow the instructions.  After that Avoid then Block the player so they cannot contact you.

Finally, DDoS attacks are illegal.  If you are the victim of a DDoS attack contact your internet service provider and let them know what happened.  They will issue you a new IP address and investigate the cause of the attack.
