How to download movie from Xbox Video on Xbox One?

Hello, How do I download a movie from Xbox Video on Xbox One instead of streaming it after purchase? I don't see any option to do so... I seek to download it like I can on 360. Thanks

Hey Liekos, hope the following link helps it out.  The solution is about half way down:

support.xbox.com/.../buying-and-renting-videos

Enjoy your movie.

I have the same issue. Xbox Support told me that xbox video on the Xbox One is a streaming service only and you cant download movies locally, then I had another support tech tell me I could. But so far it just seems to be a streaming service only on Xbox One.

I emailed the GM of Xbox Video Service. Alex Garden at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***. I asked him for clarification and more importantly expressed my concerns I want to be able to download movies from xbox marketplace.

Deathviewed - that is for 360.  Apparently it's different on Xbox One.

Chardeman that's not cool if true.  There was no warning/information that I wouldn't be able to download a movie that I paid full price to purchase..

I received a response from Alex Garden and his Xbox Management team about Xbox Video Service on Xbox One. Please see below.

[Mod Removed],

Thank you for reaching out to us and for being an Xbox One enthusiast.  Unfortunately we were not able to get download/offline playback in the v1 product.  This feature is still available on Xbox 360 and on Xbox Video on Windows 8, but not on Xbox One.  We recognize this isn't ideal for those w/ bandwidth caps and we intend to add this functionality to Xbox One in the future.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback,

Thanks Chardeman.  It's odd because Xbox Support says Download should be an option, and are somewhat mystified why it won't allow me to do so - to the point where they say the Advocacy team will call back to help investigate further.

If download really isn't supported though, I guess I won't be purchasing anything on Xbox Video..

I'll reply back if I hear anything different from the Advocacy team.

FWIW - This also seems to apply to movies previously purchased from the 360.  In so far as - if you purchased a movie from Xbox Video at any point, you cannot download it on Xbox One - only stream.

So when they pull the movie from the marketplace, you lose the movies you purchased..

I'm a little displeased about this to say the least I have just purchased a film through the xbox one and not having the option to download it is a joke, i pretty much always have an online connection but that's not the point, when I purchase a film I want to have it physically stored on the hard disk and at the minute I feel as though I don't own it which may sound stupid but I hope this gets fixed ASAP

This is a bad move on Microsofts part, I won't be renting anymore films from them until we get a patch to sort this out.  I have a decent enough broadband connection but a film never plays as well streaming as it does when you download it.  I'm not savvy enough to know exactly why, but i believe they miss frames out to keep things ticking along without have to pause & buffer, this causes judder.  Some people except this but I pay nearly a grand for a good tv & 400 quid for an Xbox and nearly a fiver per film, then I want the best quality possible.

What really sucks is Comcast internet put a 300 GB cap a month after the Xbox one came out with a only week notice to costumers so every time I play a 9GB movie I purchased on xbox one it takes away from my cap please fix the download feature soon i will not be about to purchase anymore movies from you nor will i be able to afford to play the ones ive already purchased over the last 8 years
