Help Please

I just set up my xbox and attempted to use the TV functionality.  I have a moxi cable box, LG tv, charter communications internet.  The xbox finds the LG tv and runs through all of the commands perfectly, the xbox runs through the cable series perfectly until it asked to send a power signal to my cable box, it does nothing.  I finish the setup, the guide is visible, I get a signal but I am unable to change the channel using the controller even though I'm able to scroll through the guide.  What is the problem

It sounds like you used the automatic detection to find the cable box. Did you try the "Enter It" by putting in the make/model? Also, if the cable box is behind something, the IR blasting may not reach the IR sensor on the cable box. Please let me know the Make/Model and layout of HDMI cables and make sure your cable box is in an 'open' area.

I just typed Motorola when it asked me what my box was, it actually even said I only had to enter the first couple of letters but I entered Motorola.  The moxi cable box is in plain sight and not hindered by anything, I have direct access to it.  The tv function still works on my xbox but I have to continue using my cable box remote as I am unable to change the channel at all through the xbox. HDMI cables are hooked up properly. The make/model is Moxi HD DVR 3012

Summary

- Everything is hooked up properly, this I know (HDMI cables, Kinect)

- Cable works through xbox, but still forced to use my cable tv remote because XBOX will not change the channel

- Make/model is Moxi HD DVR 3012

I am sure you hooked the cables in correctly, but what is wired to what? (like Cable box HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV). Did you see your make/model listed under the 'enter it' option? Is the cable box in an open area to allow the IR blasting to hit the cable box?

This is the same problem I'm having. If i get very close it works. But further away, i have to use the cable remote. The function recognizes my voice but will not change channels on the box.

Use you used the auto-config try the manual entry 'enter it'. Make sure the cable box has an 'open' placement (not behind cabinets, or behind anything else). If that does not work, please provide make/model of cable box, TV provider, and layout (Cable box HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV).

Just want to give update - was having same issue, i brought my cable box more out into the open and it increased range and everything seems to be working properly. Must have been some sort of interference issue.

I'm now able to use the xbox voice/remote to change channel

I ended up just getting annoyed enough with this console to retry the TV set up for the 5th time and it randomly worked and has continued since.
