Halo:Reach multiplayer issues (cant play with party)

Hey,

For some reason im having a hard time playing Halo:Reach multiplayer with my party. Each the the match is about to begin, an error message pops up saying the disc is unreadable, and automatically boots me from the match. The rest of my party stays in though. However, if i play it solo, the disc error does not come up. Im able to play the match with no problems. What gives? Im baffled by this. Is this a recent glitch? I have never had this problem before, and to make matters worse, Bungie sent a message saying im quitting too many matches!!! What do I do?

Hmm... that does sound odd.

First off, I would advise not trying the game online where you feel the error might appear again, just to save both your rankings in-game, and just to ensure Bungie don't take any action against your account. Just to be on the safe side.

Second, have you tried cleaning the disc, checking for scratches, etcetera? It is possible that the disc has become damaged or needs cleaning, so this might solve the problem. If not, then it goes beyond my knowledge and I cannot think of anything else that could be the issue, I'm afraid!

I have tried cleaning the disc, but am still experiencing the same problem. It only occurs when im playing with a party. A disc error message comes up, prompting me to clean the disc and/or restart the console. I wiped the disc down. Even washed it, and still I have this problem. I find it odd that it only happens with a party. As I explained previously, when I enter solo, I have no issues whatsoever. It makes me think that it can perhaps be an issue on Bungies end. I should probably contact them.
