..........wow. Uh, to be honest I don't think anyone can really help you with a question like that: they're so completely different that it comes down totally to what you prefer. Are you a swords and sorcery sort of guy/girl, or a cars and guns sort of guy/girl?

Personally, I'd go with Skyrim any day of the week.

flip a friggin coin.

GTA IV but only because it is cheaper.

Skyrim is by far the better game, but GTA will be lots of fun for a week or so. you can get GTA complete edition for like $20 now, skyrim pre owned is like $40... and skyrim is so good the devs deserve the money so buy it new.

Skyrim all the way.

I'd like to add if you can wait for the GOTY edition of skyrim, which will have all the DLC. I estimate $60 in DLC for the game, so waiting for the GOTY edition will be better then buying now, then getting the DLC.

you could try the predicessor to skyrim ( oblivion) which is good, as well as fallout 3 and fallout new vegas. each have their "complete" editions out which have all the DLC.

[/quote]How good is Oblivion?

its an old game so the graphics are just ok, but its basically skyrim in a different location. if you never played it i would try getting that one first, if you like oblivion you know you will love skyrim

Honestly, unless you really want to save money, Skyrim is likely the best choice by far.

To answer the question though: GTA IV has multiplayer but I didn't care for it at all. Had issues. Skyrim has no multiplayer but is one of the best single player games this generation.

None of the game I mentioned have multiplayer

Skyrim>Oblivion>fallout new vegas> fallout 3>>>>>>>>>>>> GTAIV though.

however I am guessing you haven't played any of them, the cheapest is oblivion which is great, and since it is the GOTY edition you will get as much if not more content for less money.

I still say get oblivion, because if you hate everything about it you will save the money since skyrim is basically the same thing just a newer version.

if you like oblivion, by the time you do everything in it skyrim will be $20 or so, or the GOTY edition will be out. I put about 100 hours in oblivion's GOTY edition and I put about 150 hours in skyrim.
