everytime it try to play a game i get sent back to the dashboard.

i got the rrod this morning, on a new box updated all the way from the blades to the current dashboard, i tried to put in battlefield 3, and everytime i hit the "play game" button it disconnects me from live like you normally would for an update, only it takes me back to the dashboard and reconnects me to live.

everything else works, downloaded games, netflix, etc

i cleared the cache, redownloaded my profile, and deleted then reinstalled the dashboard update.
ive also tried 3 other games, tomb raider legend and underworld gave me a warning as if they werent xbox games, and prototype 2 gave me the same message as battlefield 3
i dont know what to do.

If you got the RROD, it's probably best to send it in for repairs. Since you're having issues with all your games, it sounds like your console is on its last legs. Call support up and send in your 360 for repairs, for free if you still are under warranty. Happened to me a while back.

no i got a new box after the rrod. im sorry if that was unclear.

its literally the 2nd sentence. lol.

i got a different box that was still on the blades,  and then had to update it from the blades dashboard all the way up till the most recent dashboard.

and like i said in the question, everything else works, but those issues are preventing me from playing games

Ah, I see. Couldn't tell from the punctuation. Well, did you update to the dashboard via LIVE or a USB device? Whichever you tried, maybe attempt the other and see if that works. If it doesn't, it could be you happened by a fluke of a bad console that is just stingy with reading discs. Maybe exchanging it for a different one might yield better results?

If this Xbox was bought Pre-Owned, there is a LARGE possibility that there was an issue with the Xbox before you bought it. Take it back to the store and demand for your money back!
