Error downloading content, points taken, content not received

I wanted to download the Escalation map pack for Black Ops, so I added 1600 ms points to my account. I then tried to download Escalation, but it gave me an error message, saying something like "There was an error connecting" or something like that, I don't exactly remember what. I figured it was just a little error, nothing to worry about, but when I tried to download it again, I found that the points for the download had been subtracted from my account. I checked my active downloads, and it is empty. So, I just lost 1200 points, for a map pack that I didn't get because of an error. Is there any way to correct this error and get the map pack, or do I have to pay all over again?

You can download them again for free from your Download History. However you might have some problems downloading things today because of this.

Any idea when the service alert is going to be fixed, it's been going on since late last night.

As far as I know, everything is working fine now. I called Xbox support again and had Escalation downloading in a few minutes.

It never made it to my Download History, as the download never began. I suppose the Service Alert was probably the problem here; too bad they didn't tell me there was a problem BEFORE they took my points. Is there any hope of getting the map pack without paying for it again, or did I just lose 1200 MS Points for nothing?

Go to billing.microsoft.com to see if the purchase has been recorded. If it has, then you can phone Xbox Support and say it took your points but hasn't appeared on your Download History.

I phoned Xbox support and was told that I will be able to download the map pack once this Service Alert thing is sorted out. Thanks for the answers, Sonic Scream.
