Error code 0x803f900a, sign in or renew the subscription

I recently bought the Ultimate Game Pass that includes both the Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold. Now I have an error code that says that I need to make sure that my subscription service is up to date to play NHL 19 (This months gold game). Game Pass games work fine. I was able to play Gold Games earlier this month just fine and I was using Ultimate at the time. I have already tried to clear the Alternate Wireless MAC Address and it did not work. I hope you can sense my frustration because I am paying for the most expensive service that Microsoft offers.

Hi There

This is what I could find for this specific error code:

Error 0x803F900A occurs when you try to play a game on Xbox One

You get the following error code when you try to play a game on Xbox One:

0x803F900A

This may mean that you need to sign in or renew your game subscription.

Solution

To play your subscription game, use one or both of the following steps, as needed:

  • Sign in as the subscription holder for the game you’re trying to play.
  • If you’re already signed in as the subscription holder and the game won’t start, you probably need to renew the subscription in Microsoft Store. You might also find it listed in Settings > Subscriptions.

For help with signing in, see the Xbox One Connection and Network Solution.

For help with subscriptions, see Manage your non-Xbox subscription payment options on Xbox One.

If that does not work try signing out and signing in again.

Thanks for the response, however I'm on the correct profile and have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate till 6/12/20. I have tried to sign out, sign in, restart my Xbox, and clear the Alternate Wireless MAC Address and nothing has worked

Hello AndrewLloyd3,

Thank you for keeping us updated. We recommend removing the profile from the console and downloading it back. This troubleshooting step can help refresh your account's information on the console. Is your console enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program? Be sure to let us know the results!

Unfortunately, removing my profile and downloading it again hasn't worked either.

I am getting the same error code, except mine is for the Sims 4...but I have the disk.If NHL 19 is on EA Access that is probably the peoblem. I've been talking to Microsoft for 3 days and still cannot play. I believe its some kind of glitch on EA Access's end causing people to be unable to plat the games on that app, even if you own a digital copy or hard disk

I was actually able to fix the issue because I realized that NHL 19 was the only game with the issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled NHL and it works fine. I agree that the possible problem is with a glitch on EA Access.
