Error 80153021 when redeeming XBL Gold Code

Evening folks,

I'm currently having an issue in redeeming a 12+1 Month Xbox Live Gold code, which I purchased on Monday and tried to redeem, whenever I tried to redeem, it would display the same error code of 80153021. I currently have a 14 day Trial of Gold currently active on my account, which has another 10 days left I believe.

I have attempted the delete my profile and clear my cache 3x and then re-download my profile, but it would not work, nor could I redeem the code via xbox.com or my console.

Any idea why this is appearing and how to rectify it?

If they don't work then you'll need to contact phone support as your account may be locked from making purchases/adding items.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to resort to step 3 first, before I try to contact directly and leave it another 24 hours before I attempt to redeem it again, as it may be that I've been locked out as I had some issues trying to purchase Gold via the Xbox on Sunday night and attempted to purchase Gold a few times, with nothing happening.

I'll update this accordingly if it works or fails 24 hours from now.

Okay, over 48 hours have passed and after attempting to redeem the code again.

I received the exact same error code with my XBL Gold not being added, so I am still currently at Silver status whilst on a Gold Trial. The Advocacy team were supposed to contact me within 4 days, but that time window has also been surpassed.

What should the plan of action be now, considering I've received no contact from Support as promised?

I'm having the same error cannot use my 12 month prepaid card in my 360 gives me error same as you yet I have no pending purchases nor do I have a card on my account I only use prepaid. Have you fixed it get or found a fix

I am experiencing the same issue.  For 8 days now I have been unable to redeem a code that I legitimately purchased.  For something as easy as typing in a code has took a ridiculously long amount of time to resolve, and I am deeply dissatisfied with the service from Microsoft and X-Box in general

I have the same problem I contacted people from xbox and my problem was referred to a team who are going to sort it but it has been about a week now with no reply or fix. They did however confirm it was a valid code which I already knew. I tried waiting the 24 hours and redeeming it which didn't work and also deleting my profile, clearing the cache several times and re-downloading my profile but nothing seems to work
