EA Online age restrictions?

If the age on my account is set to 14, will I be able to play B3 online? I heard about EA having a policy of not allowing under-age accounts to play online on any of their M-rated games. Is this a thing of the past?

Im sixteen years old and I can't play Battlefield 3 online. Is it a Europe - America thing (I live in Europe)?

There's just so much to make fun of in this thread yet so little time.

Ok so here it is...I´m 19 years old and my xbox live account has the right date of birth, hell i remember the day I promoted my live account to an adult account so this shouldn't be a problem. But when i try to play BF3 online the game says Im too young! So I have 2 questions: 1-what is the age requirement to play the game online? 2-What does the game take into account, my live account date of birth or my EA account's dte of birth?

Can someone tell me how to make it so that I can change my account  age since it says "Player too young" even though I'm well over 13. I think that when I created my account I might have accidentally made my birthdate set to 1999 cause that's the premade on, since I didnt think it would actully matter. And I would appreciate it if it would be without making a new account since I have about 10k gamerscore. Please help me!

Funny, I recall I can just waltz into my local cinema and watch R rated movies. It's good knowing people who work there. :)

On the internet, you can also do this thing called "lying" and use that technique on your age. I am 21 here. :)

So to all those saying "oh my child is mature enough" when was the last time you went to a cinema and that line worked to get your kid into an 18 film ?

My guess is pretty much never.

Now before someone pulls the "in the privacy of my own home ........." I will but in and point to the fact the internet is public just because you sit and do it in the privacy of your own house doesn't make playing online private. What EA has done is drawn a clear line saying "this bit you enjoy alone in private, this bit you go out into public and enjoy in our specialised venue for this aka our servers."

Bumping a couple of month old thread. /facepalm /facepalm/
