Double Purchase?

Back in March I purchased the Mafia II DLC "Joe's Adventure" - I didn't play it and actually forgot about it.

 

This week I noticed there was a sale on Mafia II DLC, so (forgetting that I already had it) I bought Joe's Adventure for 400 ms points (nice saving on the original 800)

 

Since it let me pay for and download the item, I had no reason to think that I already had it.

 

Upon checking my hard drive I can see that I actually do already have it - and the reason I was able to pay for it twice is because the name of the DLC has actually changed. It used to be Joe's Adventure, but now it is Joe's Adventures (plural). There is also a slight file size difference (1.3gb and 1.2gb)

Is there any way I can get a refund of my 400 points?

You could try giving the xbox support line a call but it is highly unlikely you will be eligable for a refund on this item. Sorry to say but it was your own misfortune to forget about the previous DLC and all content on the xbox LIVE market place is labeled as non-refundable (attached to the end of all DLC descriptions). Yes, the name of the DLC may have changed and the content size, however Microsoft reserve the right to do this will all their content which is released on the service.

does it show up twice in your download history? Is it possible it was purchased on another gamertag?

It shows up twice, because it is literally two separate downloads. It was on the same gamertag.

It is is two separate downloads, then you weren't really "double charged". Like mentioned above you can call up phone support, they would be the only ones who could give you a refund.

what mean machine said is right xbox live is no refundable and it was your mistake. You can try and ring support but they will say the same
