Discs won't read

I recently got an Xbox again after not having one for a year and everything has been going fine up until the other day. I'm trying to restock my game library and picked up Oblivion and Bioshock 2. When I popped in Oblivion, everything went fine until I tried to start a new game. The loading bar would fill up about 3/4ths of the way, then I would get an unreadable disc error. I cleaned the disc, cleared my cache, made sure the disc was for my region, everything I was supposed to. I still have the same problem. Bioshock 2 allows me to play online multiplayer, but a very similar thing happens if I try to play the single player campaign stuff. Any ideas how I can fix this?

If none of those steps are resolving your issue (and if you're having disc-read issues with every game you're trying), then it sounds like your console will need repair. You can check your warranty status and set one up here.
