Crimson Dragon crashing on Final Mission

Here's what's happening:

Start the Final Mission - Oroborus. I have an ampule and a hired Wingman. I go to start the mission - really start it so I get to the loading screen where there's just the big picture and the text at the bottom, so I know I'm no longer in the "menu"/"preparation" area anymore. After the loading screen is going for 10-15 seconds and it seems like the level is going to start playing, the screen goes black, stays black for a couple of seconds and then goes to the dashboard.

It's the final mission! I just want to beat the darn game. Really frustrating.

Anybody have a similar problem and suggestions on what to do?

Are bumps allowed?

I have the EXACT same problem. It is a massive frustration. This is the only forum I've found about it, so I hope someone answers.

Had exact problem as well. only fixed when uninstalled and re-installed.

Never had this issue myself but as suggested,try uninstalling the game & then redownloading it.
