Controller issues!

While playing games such as Call of Duty, I avidly use the right stick, and I've recently run into an issue where there seems to be extreme resistance on the stick whenever I move it to the right or left.

I gave it to my friend to work on because he's had some experience with dismantling controllers.  He says it works fine without the top shell on, but when he puts it on, the problem reoccurs.  He said it was because of some pressure on the motherboard.

I was wondering if there was any solution or am I going to have to get another controller?

I'm also not sure if this is in the right section.

Controllers get "Sticky" after a while. I would just get a new on from like Amazon.com if you can wait a few days.
