Connecting to Xbox One Problem

First off, I can connect to the Xbox One. Well, I could. It worked at first, and now it's not. It either will say "We couldn't connect to your console. Make sure the console is still on and connected to the same network as this device." I get that the most, or it says that the Xbox is off. Neither of these are true. I have all the correct settings on my Xbox, I've checked multiple times that both were on the same network, and have shut down my PC and the Xbox. Is there anything I am doing wrong or is there something that is wrong?

Got it working, Go under settings - preferences - then make sure 'SmartGlass from any device is checked'. You should be able to connect then :-)

I had already done this, and my streaming was working before. My PC has had Internet issues before, but I fixed it when I updated my Wi-Fi card Driver. My connection on the Xbox One and PC both are stable and work.

That seems to be a different problem. Make sure you have Smartglass allowed, streaming allowed, and register the Xbox as a device on your Microsoft account.

Aside from making sure there are no updates to either the Xbox One console or the Xbox App and ensuring that streaming/SmartGlass are enabled, go into the Xbox App, click the Connect tab (Xbox One console should already be listed), click the Add a Device icon and re-add the Xbox One console again. I've encountered the issue a few times and found that after a console update it seems like it breaks the link but visibly looks like everything available to connect. Doing the Add a Device process again seems to refresh everything. Afterward, I had no issues connecting again until another console update.

Go to Xbox Settings, System, then change the xbox name. Your Xbox will restart. let it restart. Close Xbox App on computer and reopen it. Now add device!
