cant purchase cintent and microsoft points

hi

im trying to buy the new resi evil 4 hd game and every time i try to buy it or try to purchase points,

keeps saying ' unable to perform this transaction please try later'

but i have kept trying for the last 4 weeks and still nothing

could someone offer some advice as its driving me mad

I have the exact same problem. Tried both buying it and points.

Now I have a code card with points. Trying to redeem it won't work either.

Says the same thing.

EDIT: No error code only  ' unable to perform this transaction please try later'

So you are trying to purchase this on the console, and that is the FULL message/code you are getting, correct? Is this content the only one you are having an issue with? Are you saying you are getting the exact same message when you try to purchase and when you redeem a prepaid card?

This is still an issue.  I've been trying to buy Microsoft Points as well unsuccessful online and through XBox console with the same experience.  2 valid CCs and a valid PayPal account.  XBox console says "Can't authorize the selected payment option.  Please select a different payment option or add a new one."  The website says "Your payment instrument could not be authorized. Please contact your provider, or try a different payment option."

Hey Gwyther, I have skimmed about 50 of complaint postings and you show up in every one linking back to your explanation.  The problem is, your explanation doesn't work!  You keep saying that people saying the same thing over and over again isn't helpful, well neither is linking back to your help page that DOESN'T HELP.

I'm not entirely sure what link you are referring to, but what I would recommend now is, if you are unable to add multiple payment methods on your account, and you have followed all the advice in this guide (forums.xbox.com/.../19164.aspx), you should contact phone support to see if they can determine the cause, as it is most likely account-based.
