Can't play Halo 2

I finally get Halo 2 today (insrt joke here), and so I put it in my Xbox 360 to play.  Instead, I get a warning that says "This original Xbox game has encountered a problem and can't continue.  For more info, go to www.xbox.com/support."  Which I did, but I can't seem to find a place on here that tells me what to do.  I don't think it has to do with it being an Xbox game, because Halo: Combat Evolved works just fine.  If anyone could help me sovlve this problem, I would really appreciate it.

Does a friend have a different copy of that game you could try on your console? Also, is Combat Evolved a marketplace download, or on a game disc?

Yes, I do have an official hard drive; it's one of the newer 250 GB ones.  I'm assuming that I need to apply an update to my console, but I don't see how to apply the update.  I followed the help guide on this site, but nothing happened.  Like I said, Halo: Combat Evolved works perfectly fine; in fact, I'm playing it right now.  I guess my only question is why Halo 2 can't do the same thing.

Since it is an original Xbox game, the only help Microsoft can tell you is to update your console. It is still on the list of games that works, but it may not because the list hasn't been updated in a month. The list of games can be found here: support.xbox.com/.../play-original-games.aspx
