Can't purchase marketplace content!

Hello!

 

I tried to purchase Two Worlds II: Defence for Two Worlds II for 160 Microsoft points with a balance of 720 Microsoft points about a week ago and I couldn't. The Xbox Live status said the marketplace was down so I just waited. When it said it was back up I tired again and still nothing. Then two days later I tried again. Still nothing. The message that pops up every time is:

 

"Sorry, there's a problem with the Xbox service. Please try again later. For help with this problem, go to www.xbox.com/errorhelp."

"Status code: 80153410"

I ignored the code for now and tried some troubleshooting options like:

  • Clearing my system cache
  • Clearing my marketplace cache
  • Resetting my Internet

So I thought that maybe it was just the game and I tired to purchase something else but the same error came up. So I searched the code on the code checker and console ban information came up. It confused me because I can still access Xbox Live and all of its features except the marketplace. Then I tried my other console that I hadn't used for a while because I was able to purchase content on that one before i stopped using it. That didn't work either. Neither of my consoles are modified in any way and no one uses my account accept for me. I went ahead and posted my problem on the console ban section of the forums just incase but never got an answer. Xbox support usually helps me a lot, but not so much this time. So here I am hoping someone can help me.

I live in the United States and It's set to United States. In the process of being able to purchase content and then not being able to nothing has changed that I'm aware of.

This must be a recent price drop, as it used to cost far more than that.

That fact could very well be the issue. The system hasn't fully alligned the price info.

I'll try later, because there's one other item that's a third of what it was before, and I'll see if it gives me a price issue.

Yeah, one of the downloaded items for that game just dropped in price yesterday to 400 from like 1200 or something like that. The one I'm trying to buy has been 160 sence the first time I tried to buy it close to 2 weeks ago. The xbox service said the marketplace was down again today so I was hoping they found some other error but no luck. I hope the issue is that simple.

Hopefully it's a simple issue that requires mere patience.

The one that dropped to 400 is the one I don't have, so I'm going to get it in a couple hours. If it goes fine for me, and you still can't get the other one this evening, then that will at least tell us that the problem is with that one piece of content, and we can go from there.

Unfortunately it just occurred to me that the other things I mentioned trying to purchase in my original post had nothing to do with Two Worlds II. I tried purchasing a picture pack from another game and an avatar item... crap.

A lot of times this error is related to your billing info.

I would first suggest you make sure the billing address on your credit card matches the billing address on your Xbox LIVE account. Here is how to Change your Xbox LIVE account information.

If that doesn't help, I would contact your bank and make sure you have sufficient funds, and that there is no holds on your card.
