Can't play San Andreas!

I downloaded GTA: San Andreas from the marketplace. I'm using a Xbox 360 slim with an HDD with a lot of gigs, more than enough for the game (40 i think). The error code I receive goes something along the lines of "This game cannot be played, download and try again". I have re-downloaded it about 3 times and have received the same message.

All help is appreciated!

Was it purchased brand new from a retailer or did you purchase it from somewhere like ebay? Original Xbox games require an official MS brand hard drive in order to run. If it was not purchased brand new, then it's highly likely that the hard drive is a knock-off and won't work with that game. If the size of the hard drive is not a 250 gb or 320 gb then that will also tell you if it's a fake. Those are the only 2 sizes official made for the Slim 360.

I have noticed this game come up several times with this issue in the past month. Usually it can be solved by deleting the download then clearing your cache....cruising over to the marketplace downloading a demo of about the same size...then trying to download your game again. the demo can then be deleted. steps to clear your cache can be found here :

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used when you originally purchased the content.

Go to Settings, and then select Account. Select Download History.

Browse your download history. If you want to download something again, select the item, and then select Download Again.
