Can't play downloaded original Xbox game.

I recently downloaded the original Xbox game GTA: San Andreas. I have an Xbox 360 Slim. I just bought a brand new official 250 GB HDD so that I could play the game. Every time that i try to play the game, it comes up with an error message telling me that the game cannot play and that I should try downloading it again. I have deleted and re-downloaded the game multiple times and still nothing happens. I just tried burning the necessary software update to a cd and installing it that way but the Xbox did not recognize it. I have called Xbox support and they have not been able to help at all! I have been dealing with this issue for several days and still haven't found a solution. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Hello RBC Sabanator,

Welcome to the Xbox Support Forums.

So you are unable to play the downloaded game on your Xbox Console.

Ok, would you mind to change the storage device from your game (that's proberly stored on your Hard Drive) to another?

1. Remove the game from your Xbox Console.

2. Xbox Home - Settings - System - Storage - Games And Apps - Click GTA San andreas - Press Remove.

3. Now you have to configure an USB Flash Drive to your Xbox Console.

Please follow the steps that are been described in this Guide to configure your USB Flash Drive to your Console.

4. When done, redownload the game from your download history ( Xbox Home - Settings - Account - Download History) and save it to your configured USB Flash Drive.

Hello Today Warrior,

That can be different for some Xbox Consoles.

I do recommend to try it yourself. That's the best way to find the cause of the problem.

Same problems may have another cause for the issue.

You can't actually play Xbox originals from a USB stick.  If your sure that your hard drive is an official Microsoft Xbox branded hard drive, then it could be a problem with the xbox dashboard software.  To fix it then follow the instructions on this site support.microsoft.com/.../en-us

Xbox Ambassador.
