I keep getting the above message. I have tried EVERYTHING to make it work, I have called Microsoft three times today, not one of their customer service reps could help me. We even billed my account on the phone to make sure the card worked and it worked FINE yet I can't buy points it makes no sense. My billing information is exactly the same as the one on my windows live id, I don't get it, PLEASE HELP im trying to buy some points and this is really frusterating

@Geffsky, I'm having the same problem right now... none of my three payment methods are working for any dollar value. I also have tried on my Windows Phone browser with no luck... the site just locks up.

Agreed... I have even been going back and forth with the @xboxsupport twitter guys with no success. They are trying to point at the 'Financial Institution'... I've mentioned that this is happening on multiple billing sources and to multiple customers and they just say try on console and call financial institution.

An authorization failure without an associated status code such as 80190821 or 80190848 means that during the communication process to get the funds from your Credit Card Company or bank the request was denied or simply timed out.  Communications from the Xbox LIVE billing system to those providers is by no means direct, there are federal agencies that are contacted, then billing providers (such as Visa or Mastercard) and other agencies (such as wire insurance firms) that are involved.  If anywhere along that process the request is denied or fails to connect, you can get this authorization failure message.  Its generally just best to wait 24-48 hours and try again (don't keep trying every few hours, the attempts are cumulative and can create a billing block when they fail repeatedly).  If that is intolerable you can always use prepaid codes for subscriptions/points.

i have a brand new xbox and u suggest still going to a store to buy a card because xboxcant keep up?? xbox has done this to me since i have got mine, they are useless and ps is way easier to makepurchases. why cant xbox get this problem solved? and i have tried everything from re-entering info to being on the phone for over 2 hours with support to yield no results, have redownloaded myaccount and everything.. need a better payment system on xbox's end.
