Is this a downloaded game, or are you playing from disk?

If the game is downloaded, the first thing to try is deleting and redownloading.  See steps at:

http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/f/8/t/752.aspx

----------------------------------

If the game is from disk, try clearing your system cache:

Clearing the update cache will allow the console to refresh and download a new update:

  1. Navigate to the "My Xbox" channel on the dashboard menu (the console's 'main menu').
  2. Scroll right, to the last page which is the "System Settings" page.
  3. Select "Memory" from the list of options.
  4. Highlight the hard drive and hit Y on your controller.
  5. Select the option to clear the update cache and perform maintenance on the memory unit.
  6. Restart your xbox 360 console.

Perhaps you have a corrupt save file for the game and it is getting hung up on that.

Go to Dashboard, then scroll over to the System Tab and open it up.

1.  When the tab opens, click "Storage"

2.  Navigate to the device in which your save data for Tenchu Z resides in

3.  Somewhere there you should see something about save files (it varies from game to game).

4.  You will probably need to delete the save game files.
