black ops2 unrecognized disc

My Xbox 360 will not play call of duty black ops2.  Every time I try I get unrecognized disc error.  It isn't the disc it wroks fine in 2 other systems and it isn't the disc drive because I don't have problems with anything else.   I called customer service and they were a joke, they only ran through troubleshooting tips I have already tried a dozen times. Can anyone help with this problem.   Microsoft really needs to get their act together there is a problem here and I've looked into it there are hundreds of others with the same problem with only this game.

Do you have any friends who have the game?  Perhaps you could try borrowing it and installing it from there.

Otherwise you could try and follow the steps at the link below

It isn't the game I have two copies at home, and neither work on my xbox.  I ha e also tried a friends copy and that didn't work on mine.  I think this may be a problem with one version of the Xbox that microsoft need to address.

If you've tried different game discs then the issue may very well be the disc reader in which case the console would need to be set up with a repair.

But I can play any of the other 18 games we have here plus movies and cd's without a problem.  I highly doubt that one game would be the only one not working if it were my lens.

Hmm, that is indeed very funky.  One last thing I would think to try- can you bring your hard drive to a friends' console and try installing the game that way? Or, failing that, have you ever tried playing that game in your system with your hard drive removed?

It might be certain coding on the Disc that your 360 cant read correctly.  Another thing could be that your xbox's optical lense is dirty and not reading the games proporly.   A few things can result to this,

the first one being that your xbox may not be in a well venilated area,

avoid putting it on a floor or carpet area as dust and other particales

such as human and animal hair travel on the floor faster than anywhere else.

Another thing that could cause this is if you live in a smokey enviornment

or just smoke indoors.  The smoke can create a foggy like substance around

the lense blinding it and causing it to have reading problems.  I suggest

you buy a lense cleaner.  I've seen them for sale at best buy and online

stores, so if you think that may be the problem you should probably pick

one up and if its not the problem at lease you have a lense cleaner now for

future use.

I've tried the hard drive thing and if there is no hard drive in the results are the same.  If I put the hard drive into another console and install the game from there, when I go back to my console the game still won't load and I get the same message.  At the home screen instead of the bops2 logo it still only says play game, if I hit x to go to game options it recognizes that black ops2 is in the system and installed but when I try to launch game it tells me I can only play the game on the console it was installed on.

I thought about the lens but is up off the floor in the open in a non smoking house, and it seems wierd that only one game would have this problem.  I think you might be right about the issue being with some code not being properly read between the xbox and my version of the console, due to the fact that there are many other people with the same problem with this game.  I just wish microsoft or Activision would look into the situation.
