General Tips

-Upgrade your Eve & Health bars at least twice. If you want to play a little bit safer, then upgrade your eve 3 times and your health 4 times. More than that is a waste of adam.

-Save often. Every time you enter a new area, before fighting a big daddy, after fighting a big daddy. You get the idea

-Try to hack everything: Health station, Turrets, Safes, Stores, and Cameras.
-Try to upgrade every weapon.
-Use the Research camera on every single enemy type, especially on the Big Daddies and the Houdini splicers.

-Keep in mind that you cannot loot enemies if you destroy them while they are frozen.
-Keep in mind that you cannot research friendly turrets, bots, or surveillance cameras.
-Keep in mind that the improved plasmids are cheaper on the next level.

-Keep in mind that there are 5 missable audio diaries. 2 are located in the Kashmir Restaurant (beginning of the game) and 3 in Hephaestus (before you meet Andrew Ryan)

Big Daddies Strategies

"LOL at the Big Daddies" strategy:

If you have: the chemical thrower fully upgraded, all the damage bonuses for the Big Daddies, and any of damage research tonics. Then just use your electric gel. One canister will deplete all of the health of an Elite Big daddy

Easy way to the defeat a Bouncer:

-Hack two Security Bots or be near a Security Camera
-Attach 3-5 proximity mines to an explosive tank, and then throw it to the Bouncer
-Retreat a couple of ft and let the bots do the job.

-Always move in circles or zigzag to avoid the Bouncer, especially when he charges towards you. If he hits you it will drain most of your health.

-As soon as he stunts you, shoot him with an electric buck (if he is at close proximity) or use your Electro bolt plasmid.
It stunt the bouncer and give you time to recover.

The Rosies are a pain in the @@@, the rivet gun can kill you in 2 or 3 shoots. So strategize

Easy way to defeat a Rosie (if you have the Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid):

-Find a Rosie and tag him with your Hypnotize Big Daddy Plasmid.
-Start a fight with another Rosie and let the two of them battle it out.
-Having friendly bots or turrets is a plus. Less work for you

Remember that the Hypnotize Big Daddy plasmid will drain your entire Eve bar when used, so try using it only when you have a low amount of eve.

CAUTION: Do not use the electric flesh tonic when you have a Big Daddy protecting you.

Way to defeat a Rosie:

-First of all: Make a perimeter. Place Trap bolts, hack turrets, hack cameras, hack bots, or anything that can be of aid. Do not fight the Rosie in too tight spots or in places too open.

-Have 9/9 health packs.
-Attach 3-5 proximity mines to an explosive tank, and then throw it to the Rosie.
-Use your armor piercing bullets and Electric buck
-Once you have depleted at least 2 quarters of the Rosie’s health. Use the electric gel to finish him off.

[SPOILERS]

When fighting Atlas:

-Have a the medical expert 3&2 and the eve saver physical tonics
-Upgrade the health and eve bar at least twice
-Fully Upgrade the chemical thrower, machine gun, and the shotgun
-Have 9 health packs
-Have 200/200 electro gel

In the first round: Use the electric buck ammo and the antipersonnel machine gun ammo.
In the second round: Use the electro gel (he will remain immobile) and ignore the security bots. (Remember to use your health packs)

In the 3rd and final round: Use the electro gel once again (Don’t forget to use your medpacks).

Thanks for those brilliant tips!

Just one quick question - after I have finished the game, is there the opportunity to go back to previous levels to do things like find more Little Sisters, audio tapes, invent more things etc.? Or is that something I should do close to finish the game rather than after?

You will have to restart completely, you can't go back to specific levels.

You can return to almost all of the previous levels before starting the final battle in the Proving Grounds.

Easiest way to defeat any Big Daddy is to equip Electric Flesh and use the Chemical Thrower fueled by Electric Gel. Now, you can't do this until Fort Frolic, obviously, but once you have them, you can take out any Big Daddy without taking damage. This works even better if you have the Research Bonuses, and are using the Damage Research tonics when attacking.

Pretty solid tips.
