Assault Rifle: MP44 (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) Sub-Machine Gun: AK-74u (Black Ops) / PPSh-41 (World at War) Light Machine Gun: MG42 (World at War) Shotgun: Stakeout Sniper: Kar 98k
I loved the MP44 in Call of Duty 4 even though it was statistically inferior to the majority of weapons in the game. All I would change is the shape of the iron sight. I could be wrong here, but wasn't the iron sight for the real rifle squared, more like
the Gewehr 43, than rounded like the Kar 98 with the hood thing? Whatever way it's meant to be, I loved that gun all the same. I did like the AK-74u in Black Ops and still do after the patch. If anything the patch has allowed me to enjoy the gun even more.
Less people use it and it is now harder to use so I'm happy with it.
The MG42 is the only option as a favorite light machine gun. Anything that allows me to fire a huge number of rounds with surprising accuracy is the way to go. I also loved how the MG42 looked in that game. As for the shotguns, only the Stakeout springs
to mind. Nothing compares to the Kar 98k with a scope either, though I also liked the Mosin-Nagant and the PTRS-41 as well.
