Your DNS server can't resolve....

Ok, I've been looking around the forums here, the interactive troubleshooting thing on here, other forums, EVERYTHING, but I can't get this to work.  I have Comcast as my ISP, my modem is ubee D3.0, my router is NETGEAR N150 (WNR1000v2).  I get the message "Your DNS server can't resolve the name of the Xbox live servers or xbox.com  I've done the ipconfig /all thing and put in the primary DNS server #s manually, I've restored factory settings, tried different combinations etc.. When I test my connection it fails between network and internet (the network connection is fine).  The other thing is that I set up my router last night, it said "Congrats Your router is set up with Internet and wireless settings."  So I think I set it up right.  I then unplugged the router from the modem upstairs, took it downstairs to my xbox, turned on the router and plugged in my ethernet cable from the router to my xbox.

so my setup is ISP line --->Modem---> desktop computer (upstairs) ---> Router (wireless to modem?)---->Xbox

I don't know if I can have a wireless connection from the router to the modem or not.  All the lights on it are green/functioning and show connection so I really don't know what to do.  Please ANYONE, HELP ME!   Thank you !!!!

I can connect directly from the modem to my xbox so my internet connection is fine.  Also, I don't have anything plugged into the WAN port on the router just the LAN to my xbox.  I thought the router could wirelessly connect with the modem.  Can it?  Can anyone help me?  Or give me a link to an already open topic.  I couldn't find anywhere else I could post!  PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Hey mate, very sorry for missing this thread. Are you still having this issue? From what you've tried, it looks like the issue is with the router itself (and for the record, I don't know of any modems that broadcast a wireless signal). At this point, I recommend trying a different router, or contacting the router manufacturer for help resolving the issue (as it disappears when the router is taken out of the mix). Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi,

So you are saying your PC connects to your modem with what a USB cable or Ethernet cable? And then from your PC is an Ethernet cable to your router is that right? If so that's a very strange set
