Multiple users, nearly 1/2 of my friend's list contacted me to see if I knew anything. Please report it up.

also, please don't send me the canned answer on NAT settings or clearing system cache.  XBoxLive just had a ton of people drop offline and reconnect right back on- most of whom appear to be on the East Coast.   The specific ones listed above are from the folks that hit me up or were in my party when it happened.

Microsoft service had a temporary issue withing sign-in service across all platforms (XBOX, Hotmail, etc). From what I could tell, this issue has been resolved and service across all Microsoft platforms have been restored.

My friend and I from Raleigh, NC (Time Warner Cable) as well as my brother in Atlanta (not sure what he has) disconnected within seconds of each other while playing BF3.

Good thing this service is free, otherwise I would be upset. Oh wait...

Sorry you had the issue. Only explanation I could give ya, and this is from my opinion, is that Microsoft is a constantly updating service. Updates, as everyone likes to point out, aren't always perfect, and some can cause issues, while others work perfectly fine. This may, or may not of been the case this time. At least it got resolved within minutes, instead of hours :P

Well we were experiencing party drops/disconnects all night and have been having party disconnects/drops for months. The only reason I'm here is because tonight's particular issue was so bad that I actually came to look at the forums.

Yeah. not going to lie, I experience some drops too (not as much as I hear from other people). Can be frustrating at times, but the best thing that can be done is to report these issues, and hope that someone comes by and takes care of them. Unfortunately, it can take some time to get resolved.
