Which model Xbox do you have - is the big round power button on the front Black White or Chrome?

If you have a Chrome power button it's the 360s with built in WiFi and you can connect by wireless to the router even if the cable is misbehaving.

Have you tried switching Ethernet ports on your router, it's possible your router might have gone bad.

Hi,

It could well be that the network port is now broken, have you had any storms in your area lately?

It sounds like you've tried a few things already but just to be sure:-

1) Try a different Ethernet cable

2) Try a different port on the router

3) Ensure nothing else is inside the Ethernet port of the Xbox that could interfere with the contacts

If you have tried all of that then it does sound like the Xbox is faulty and will need a Microsoft repair or replacement
