Xbox won't register Gold status

Like so many others. My Xbox One will not understand that I have Gold. My account on this website says I have Gold. When I try to play Battlefield 4 online, it says I need gold and asks if I want to subscribe. When I say yes, it says that I'm already good to go and then I can play just fine. But anything else that requires Gold will not work. Netflix, Ryse online, Party chat etc.. They all say I need to have Gold. I've tried deleting and re-downloading my profile multiple times. I've talked to a support person and they told me to try a power cycle reset, which did not work and then of course when I got back online to tell them they were gone/weren't responding. 

Anyone been able to figure this out?

I'm assuming that G next to our number means gold? This is getting extremely frustrating.
